A woman identifies a murderer in a police line-up and then faces a reign of terror when the killer is freed by the court on grounds of insufficient evidence. The woman's life, including her career as a therapist for disturbed children, begins to fall apart, until she bolsters her confidence with the purchase of a handgun.
