From the feature film of the same name, this is a young Ed Begley, Jr. in the role immortalized by the great Steve Martin. Perhaps the success of the movie made this version appear diluted. It's short run was undeserved as this was a wonderful portrayal of an extended family and the casting has proven to be near perfect.
