A police station in Venice Beach, California is the setting for this sitcom. Short-lived but in retrospect EXCELLENTLY cast, including Richard Libertini as an openly gay detective and the late, great John Hancock as the chief.

"Slap" Maxwell is a sportswriter of the old-school--hard-working, uncompromised.

One of television's all-time greatest shows and most certainly in the list of the top 10 greatest sitcoms. Wry, dry and self-deprecating, this is a sitcom sans laugh track. As this show proved, if the writing is working, it's not necessary.
